This is the website for the Surf Lifesaving Club of Sorrento in Victoria.
Sorrento is located near the tip of the Mornington Peninsula. It is famous for
its beautiful bay and ocean beaches.
Sorrento SLSC has more than 400 members. Each patrol season club members perform
between 10 and 20 rescues and over 200 preventative actions on the main ocean
beach.
Sorrento SLSC is an active member of the local community, patrolling the back
beach, providing sport and recreation, water safety training, skill development,
and offering frontline first aid and emergency services.
This website contains information for visitors to the area, people intending to
get involved in surf lifesaving, and operational information (patrol times,
rosters, events) for club members. To navigate this website use the Main
Menu on the left.
Safety Tips
Here are a some tips to ensure your visit to the beach is safe and fun.

Always swim between the
flags

Read and obey the signs.

If you are unsure of surf
conditions, ask a lifesaver.

Don’t swim directly after a
meal.

Don’t swim under the
influence of alcohol or drugs.

Never run or dive into the
water, even if you have checked before. Water conditions can change.

If you get into trouble in
the water, stay calm. Signal for help, float and wait for assistance.

Float with a current or
undertow. Stay calm, don’t try to swim against it. Signal for help and wait
for assistance.
