The Sorrento Police Station is a non-24 hour police station situated at 2 Hotham Road, Sorrento. It's Sub-District encompasses the townships of Blairgowrie, Sorrento & Portsea.
It is staffed by four permanent personnel, a Sergeant and three Senior Constables, all of whom have worked within the Mornington Peninsula District for many years and are very familiar with the demographics, tourism, community services and local policing targets.

 

During the Summer holiday season the station's functions are supported by four extra personnel to enable additional policing and service delivery.

Aside from traditional policing core functions, Sorrento police are actively involved in several youth projects in particular:-

  • 'Blue Light' and 'Disabled Blue Light' Discos,

  • Co- ordination and support of Southern Peninsula Police & Citizens' Charity Golf Day.

  • Camp '000' and Water Safety for Local schools.

  • Neighbourhood Watch Areas in both Sorrento and Blairgowrie Townships. Continuing the Co-ordination of the 5 Neighbourhood Watch Areas and establishing signage throughout the townships in particular carparks.

  • Involvement in 'Communities that Care' Project within the Nepean Ward.

  • Displays and lectures at local groups and agencies, in particular the Sorrento Street Festival.

  • New Years Eve Steering Committee.

An answering service is provided with provision to have calls diverted to Rosebud Police Station. Should the station be unmanned at the time of your attendance a push button telephone located at the front door will enable communication with the nearest 24 hour police station at Rosebud.
