Local Waters Forecast for Port Phillip
Issued at 5:10 am EDT on Tuesday 2 December 2008
for the period until midnight EDT Friday 5 December 2008.

Weather Situation
A weakening cold front over eastern Bass Strait will move away to the east this
morning but another cold front will cross Tasmania early Wednesday.A high
pressure system will drift over Victoria later Wednesday, reaching the Tasman
Sea on Thursday. A low pressure trough will cross South Australia on Thursday
and Victoria on Friday.

Forecast for Tuesday until midnight
Winds: West to northwesterly 10 to 15 knots tending west to southwesterly 15 to
20 knots around midday then becoming southwesterly 15 to 25 knots during the
afternoon then decreasing to 10 to 15 knots later in the evening. Seas: rising
to 1 to 1.5 metres during the day.

Forecast for Wednesday
Winds: West to southwesterly 10 to 20 knots tending south to southwesterly
during the afternoon then tending southerly 10 to 15 knots later in the
evening. Seas: 0.5 to 1 metres.

Forecast for Thursday
Winds: East to southeasterly 5 to 10 knots tending easterly 10 to 20 knots
during the afternoon. Seas: Below 0.5 metres increasing to 0.5 to 1 metres
during the evening.

Forecast for Friday
Winds: North to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots tending north to northwesterly
during the morning then tending west to southwesterly during the afternoon then
tending south to southwesterly during the evening. Seas: Up to 1 metres.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:40 pm EDT Tuesday.
